Welcome to Joseph Gallagher

Engineering certainty for the world’s most complex infrastructure

Joseph Gallagher Group delivers high‑risk tunnelling, underground works and heavy civil engineering with absolute precision. Founded in 1982, we are one of the UK’s most experienced specialist sub-contractors - trusted for technical excellence, safety leadership and dependable delivery across water, energy, transport, utilities and marine environments.

With full in‑house capability - tunnelling, shaft sinking, civil and structural works, marine & landfall works, specialist plant, design engineering, environmental services and specialist labour, we remove interface risk and deliver certainty on every programme.

Our teams operate across the UK, Middle East and internationally, supported by one of the industry’s strongest specialist workforces and owned plant fleets, including TBMs and 5t to 280t cranes.

Our award‑winning LIFE culture (Living Incident Free Everyday) puts safety, technical discipline, wellbeing and behavioural excellence at the centre of everything we do. This culture underpins our performance on some of the world’s most demanding projects - from sea outfalls beneath the Arabian Gulf to complex tunnelling under live nuclear facilities and major rail infrastructure.

Global tunnelling specialists

We are recognised for delivering the complex tunnelling and deep shaft solutions that others may not attempt. Our teams combine decades of  hands-on engineering expertise with precise planning and methodical execution, ensuring safe, efficient and predictable outcomes for the most technically demanding environments.
